Cottage Cafe Coupons and Deals
Scout Notes: You know a restaurant has got to be doing something seriously right when everyone from twenty-something hipsters to ladies who lunch ladies who lunchcan be found dining in the same establishment. Cottage Cafe, Bellevue’s delicious little secret, has managed to accomplish just that with stellar locally sourced ingredients and everything from soups to sauces made from scratch. Vanilla Bean Lemonade, Charleston She Crab Soup, Cheddar Jam…these are just a few of the items you’ll find on the almost-too-delicious-for-words menu over at Cottage Cafe. Originally known for their beautiful, flavor-infused cakes, Lorie and Jason Burcham, the husband and wife team behind Nashville bakery Crumb de la Crumb, purchased Cottage Cafe in 2012 because 1. They needed more space (they were operating out of a small, private cake studio) and 2. They wanted to try something new. And boy, are we glad they did. Offering everything from soups and salads to sandwiches (we love Berenice’s Chicken Salad Sandwich) and quiche made with love in-house, much of Cottage Cafe’s menu is (or can be prepared to be) gluten free, dairy free or vegan—something we always like to hear. And you better save some room. Their full-service bakery still whips up the brownies, lemon bars, cakes and pies that landed them on The Food Network Challenge not once, but twice. Oh, and if that vanilla bean lemonade we mentioned above sounds a little weird to you, don’t worry. We were skeptical, too. But trust us—one sip and you’ll be hooked.
