Your kids already have a knack for turning food into art, so build on their macaroni masterpieces with a course in real cooking from Cooking Up Books Education Studio: Pay $20 for a cooking class for a child age 5 to 12 (regularly $40). Held on Saturdays at noon starting November 10, these two-hour classes teach kids the basics of cooking with simple recipes using different ingredients based on the season. As they master their new skills in the kitchen, kids will also stretch their minds with books, crafts, and even a few math problems that all tie into the weekly theme of the class. This Leesburg center was founded by Vanessa Newby, a long-time culinary enthusiast who discovered a love of cooking at a young age. She'll show your kids how reading, cooking, and mathematics can all stir together into one delicious recipe for success.
