Common Ground on the Hill continues its 2012-2013 concert series with Margot Leverett and the Klezmer Mountain Boys, who have dubbed their unique fusion of bluegrass and klezmer music "Jewgrass." This joyous, improvisational band explores the shared musical spirit of two genres literally worlds apart, playing soulful, foot-stomping music that features Appalachian and Southern fiddle tunes and the klezmer melodies of pre-war Russia and Eastern Europe. The music of the Klezmer Mountain Boys has been featured in film, theatre and dance, most notably in Paul Taylor Dance Company's "Klezmerbluegrass."
