City of Gaithersburg Winter Lights Festival Coupons and Deals
Description
Nothing says, “Holidays”, like twinkling lights. The magic of the season seems to radiate from the sparkling glow, filling you with that unmistakable joy. Though you may have a neighbor or two who is gifted when it comes to light displays, nothing beats driving through an entire display of holiday lights. A great place to do that is the city of Gaithersburg’s 17th annual Winter Lights Festival. This 3.5 mile drive through light display, nestled in Seneca Creek State Park, takes you past more than 380 illuminated displays and 60 animated vignettes that light up the night. Drive slowly past a world of wonder that includes themed areas like Teddy Bear Land, Winter Woods, a Victorian Village, the North Pole, and much more. Turn your wonder into amazement through the lenses of special holographic viewing glasses, which truly bring the experience to “life”. Inspired by the spirit of the holidays, proceeds from the 2011 festival will benefit local charities. Winter Lights is open Sunday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m., and is closed on all Mondays as well as December 25, closing at 9 p.m. on December 24 and 31. Grab the kids, put some hot cocoa in a thermos, load a holiday playlist on your iPod, and enjoy some warm (inside the car) and heart warming holiday family fun.
