The world-famous -- and Chicago's own -- Joffrey Ballet takes the stage at Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University with "Human Landscapes". This multi-faceted program features three pieces that pull inspiration from diverse sources. The works of Norwegian expressionist painter Edvard Munch inspired choreographer Jirí Kylián's "Forgotten Land" (with music by Benjamin Britten), while anti-war reaction to World War I fueled choroegrapher Kurt Jooss' "The Green Table" (with music by Frederick Cohen). And the art of ballet itself was the muse for choreographer James Kudelka's "Pretty BALLET", which features music by Bohuslav Martinů.
