Ceol Coupons and Deals
Description
Scout Notes:When Irish expats Loretta Heaney and Samantha Meehan bought the bar they had been tending for years, their goal was to create a traditional Irish pub with “ceol, ol agus craic.” (Gaelic for good music, good drink and lots of fun.) One night in this much-loved Cobble Hill spot and you’ll see they’ve attained this goal. From the welcoming green facade to the Irish artifacts on the walls, Ceol is your little piece of Ireland in Brooklyn. Stop in on a Wednesday night for live music, and be sure to bring some friends. You’ll want to start things off with some hearty Irish beers and a basket of frickles (beer-battered, deep-fried pickles that satisfy your taste buds with equal parts juice and crunch). For dinner, coax your friends into getting different dishes and try a bit of everything. The Shepherd’s Pie is an old Irish favorite: chopped beef, peas, and carrots topped with a layer of creamy mashed potatoes and a cheddar crust. Also a classic, the Bangers and Mash consists of Irish sausages nestled into a mound of fresh mashed potatoes, drizzled in brown gravy, and sprinkled with onions. The Fish and Chips is another perfect pairing with beer-battered white fish, hand-cut chips, and a tangy lemon tartar sauce. Polish all of this off and stick around for the traditional Irish music emanating through the pub. Your ears will be as happy as your stomach. Sláinte!
