Catoctin Creek Distilling Company was founded by Becky and Scott Harris in 2009 as the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition. Thanks to them, folks don’t have to rely on the Dukes of Hazard anymore to enjoy a fine locally produced spirit in peace.On the distillery tour, you’ll see every facet of production, including fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling. You’ll also get to try three of their flagship spirits, including, Roundstone Rye, Watershed Gin, and Mosby’s Spirit.At Catoctin Creek, they use only locally sourced, organic grains and fruit to produce fine spirits free of pesticides and chemical additives. If you’re lucky, you may even be fortunate enough to catch Becky and Scott at work, and pick their brain on the inner workings of running a successful organic distillery.Once your tour is done, you can purchase a bottle of your favorite sampling, and you’ll get to keep your souvenir shot glass to remind you of your fond memories at Loudoun County’s first, finest, and only distillery.
