Located in Chicago's Northern Suburbs, children ages 6-8 or 9-14 (advanced) can experience a full range of LEGO-themed activities, projects, science, games and movies. The LEGO education programs are written by experts in the field, including professors at some of the most prestigious universities. Your child will think they are just having fun playing with LEGOS, but they’ll actually be learning physics, making simple and motorized machines, snap circuits....all while sharpening their minds! Choose from the following themed camps and weekly options. Each camp includes a FREE camp T-Shirt and snack & drink daily!! Maximum size of camp is 12 students with a staff to student ratio of 1:6. LEGO Machines and Robots: July 22-July 29, 2pm-5pm, Ages 6-14 Experience a variety of LEGO projects, play time, science, games and movies. In this class students can build robots and use software to plan, test, and modify sequences of instructions from a variety of real life robotic behaviors. They will learn to use data from specialized sensors such as rotation, sound, light, ultrasonic, and touch. Use data involving distance, time, turning angle, degrees of rotation, sound volume, reflected, and ambient light and gear ratios. Stop Motion and Automation Camp: August 5 - 9, 1pm-5pm, Ages 6-14 Children will use innovative software to combine the power of PC and stop-motion animation to bring LEGO® figures and objects to life. Creating stop-motion animation not only encourages the development of story-telling, it also provides an opportunity for kids to use the PC as a movie production tool. Each child will create a film based on his/her own vision and imagination. Throughout the week they will work on their draft and the official film will be recorded on a DVD for them to keep and enjoy.
