International guest artists Nina Kaptsova and Alexander Volchkov, both principal dancers with the world-famous Bolshoi, join the California Ballet Company for its 45th anniversary production of Tchaikovsky's timeless "Swan Lake". The company danced this version, choreographed by Thor Sutowski, to rave reviews in 1997, and reprises it to celebrate their milestone season. The famous classical ballet tells the story of young lovers Siegfred and Odette, who's captured by the evil von Rothbart and transformed into a swan. Siegfred sets out to save his beloved before it's too late, though he's beguiled and distracted by von Rothbart's daughter, the seductive black swan Odile.
