Bourbon Street Blues and Boogies Bar Coupons and Deals
As a general rule, we avoid eating any food that we find in an alleyway. But we’ll always make an exception for Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar, a New Orleans-themed Cajun restaurant with killer musicians and even better cooks. Tucked into the middle of Printer’s Alley, Bourbon Street Blues has been serving up alligator bites, po’boys and bowls of gumbo since the mid-‘90s. Almost everything on the menu is homemade, from the BBQ sauce to the hand-breaded pork nuggets, and executive chef Andrew Hayes focuses on traditional Southern items with a gourmet twist. Even the hamburger and French fries get a new look: At Bourbon Street, the patty’s slathered with pimento cheese, stacked between two slices of Provence Bakery bread and topped with a fried green tomato. The fries are blackened, tossed with crispy sprigs of rosemary and served with a side of homemade green goddess dressing. "Heavenly" almost describes ’em. And we haven’t even talked about the music yet. Blues bands, “American Idol” finalists and country stars have all played the Bourbon Street stage, which stretches across the middle of the restaurant. Since every table has a clear view of the stage, visitors don’t have to choose between eating their food or watching the show. Finally, a place where we can order another helping of catfish sliders and pump our fists at once! Nashville may be 500 miles north of New Orleans, but Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar makes going to the Big Easy feel easy. MENU HIGHLIGHTS: Beth’s Burger, $11 Chicken Sliders, $5 (each), $12 (two sliders, with fries) Beer Battered Alligator, $12 HOURS: Daily, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
