Scout Notes: Two years ago, Paolo Tramontano, former executive chef of Valentino’s, opened Bella Napoli, a pizzeria nestled in the heart of Edgehill Village. Tramontano was born and raised in Naples, Italy, and longed to share the flavor of his hometown with folks in the Nashville area. By importing much of his ingredients, including San Marzano tomatoes (considered by many to be the best in the world!), extra-virgin olive oil, fresh mozzarella, and “00” Caputo flour, Tramontano has become famous for his authentic Napolitan pizzas (we love the Margheraita). If pizza’s not your thing, you’ll be happy to know that Bella Napoli’s menu also includes some pretty awesome calzones, pastas, and salads, as well as a full bar. As much as we love the menu, we also love the restaurant’s casual, cozy atmosphere, with its exposed brick and open kitchen.
