Scout Notes: While taking some time off and making the voyage to India is definitely on our bucket list, for the time being we've been spending our time at Baluchi's (the jet leg to Park Slope is a little easier to handle). Since 1994 Baluchi's has been serving up the diverse tastes and aromas of this beautiful country to New Yorkers, and New Yorkers have welcomed it. The Park Slope outpost is beautifully decorated in dark, ornately carved wood, colorful light fixtures, intricately tiled table tops to resemble the Taj Mahal, and comfortable seating cushions that welcome a lingering meal. Oh, and the food! From traditional Tandoor like Chicken Kastoori Kabab and Lamb Vindaloo, to Vegetarian curries like Bhindi Masala and Saag Paneer, each dish is thoughtfully created and presented in order to convey the centuries of tradition behind it. From the friendly staff to the relaxed, quiet environment, a meal at Baluchi's just might push that trip to India a few notches up on that list.
