Beginning glasssmiths are welcomed with the Intro to Fusing class, which provides students with the instruction and materials necessary to create their own colorful glass artwork, such as colorful serving ware or unique tiles. At the beginning of each three-hour session, an experienced teacher explain the basics of fused glass, including safety tactics and glass-cutting techniques, after which students get to produce six pieces of art—four glass pendants, a glass bowl, and one larger tray—that they can take home after about a week, once the glass gets through the kilns. Reservations are required for classes; check the schedule for monthly offerings.
