Ah love Oil & Vinegar makes it even better by elevating this condiment to the next level. While you can opt for one of at least seven EVOOs from all over the world, my taste buds gravitated to blood orange, citrus habanero and—brace yourselves—BACON. Yes, I JUST SAID BACON. Plus, you can taste everything here before you buy it, which is awesome, but also a little bit dangerous because, if you're like me, you're gonna want everything. Not to be outdone, the vinegar selection here puts fancy grocery store sections to shame. The 18-year-old aged balsamic is so grape-filled and delicious, that I almost wanted to take a shot of it. Seriously. But probably my favorite thing about this Fairfax shop is the friendly staff, who are so well versed in this oft-overlooked culinary ingredient that they're able to answer just about any question you might have. "Can I put vinegar on ice cream?" Turns out, yes you can. Balsamic vinegar can be flavored just like oil, so you'll find flavors ranging from pomegranate to chocolate to cucumber melon. Holiday meals and desserts, and not to mention gifts, are about to get a whole lot more interesting. And delicious.
