You get all this and more at Camp Wright on Kent Island, located on 140 acres of wooded Chesapeake Bay front property! Since 1930, Camp Wright has provided young people with challenging and rewarding outdoor experiences in a Christian setting on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Children of all faiths and backgrounds, ages 7-14, are welcome to attend camp during this very special CertifiKid offer, from July 19-26, 2013, during Camp Wright's "Christmas in July." 8 days and 7 nights of pure sleep away camp magic! Christmas at Camp Wright is one of their oldest traditions! Campers will enjoy all the fun of our week long sessions but also celebrate Christmas in July. Highlights include a late night vespers service, a visit from Santa, Capture the Flag, Color Wars and many other fun camp Christmas activities. Don’t forget your Santa hat! Camp Wright's regular programs include a variety of experiences and activities to encourage campers' social, physical, mental and spiritual growth. Camp activities include: boating team sports swimming creative arts nature exploration environmental activities, and more! Activities in small and large groups, meal periods, and cabin time all are opportunities for friendship, learning, and fun. Each summer is unique, making each Camp Wright experience a chance for new adventures and discoveries. The grounds include a Junior Olympic size swimming pool, tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, playing fields, hiking trails, a beach, and an outdoor chapel. Indoor space includes an arts and crafts building, a large group gathering space, and a dining hall. Bathroom facilities and showers are located in a common bath house. Resident campers and staff live in rustic three-season cabins with bunk beds. (That means no electricity. Pack your flashlight!)
