Sufi's, how do we love thee? We'd count the ways, but with a menu this robust – it might take a while. From the kabobs to the mixed rice to the array of appetizers, Sufi's kitchen seems to employ a culinary Midas touch to each and every traditional Persian dish listed on their menu. But perhaps the perfect prologue to Sufi's authentic, flavorsome fare? A bowl of their rich, creamy and impossibly smooth homemade hummus. And we're not the only ones who think so. In fact, this humble appetizer might be one of the beloved dishes on Sufi's menu, and for good reason (several, in fact). This hummus laughs in the face of store-bought hummus. This hummus makes other hummuses (hummi?) quiver in their proverbial boots. This hummus, made to order and seasoned to garlicky, lemony perfection, might very well be some of the best we've had this side of the Mediterranean. Served with warm, fluffy, house-made pita bread, it simply confirms our long-standing hypothesis that Sufi's can truly do no wrong when it comes to the complex, flavorful cuisine of owner Mohsen's native Iran. Skeptics, however, can simply refer to the fesenjoon stew, Cornish game hen kabob or fluffy mixed rices for further evidence of Sufi's kitchen chops—but as far as we're concerned, this bowl of creamy, savory goodness is proof positive. Menu Highlights Hummus, $7 Free with Scoutmob Sufi's Special (spicy eggplant), $8 Dolmeh, $8 Fesenjoon Stew, $18 Vegetable Kabob, $16 Koobideh Kabob (Ground Beef), $16 Joojeh Kabob (Cornish Hen), $20 Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
