We're all for trying new things, and occasionally that includes letting other people have a say in our dining destinations. But in all honesty, sometimes we just want pizza. And we're not budging. This can become a problem if our dining companions really want Greek, and utterly refuse to see the pizza side of things. And this, friends, is where Clay Oven/Dominic's comes in. Two families united to bring the best of authentic New York pizzerias and legit, Greek fare, all under one roof, saving meals and friendships in their wake. Scout? Welcome to your new favorite Greek-zeria. Husband and wife duo Lindsey and Dominic take care of the Italian goods, with fresh, made-to-order brick-oven pizzas. In fact, we dreamed about the pie that night. Which is kinda embarrassing, now that we said it out loud... Moving on. After all that expertly-spiced and sliced Italian goodness, we were feeling a little Mediterranean. The only cure? Chicken Souvlaki, on spears, freshly prepped in the store-bought-free zone that is the clay oven. And as we sat down in the shared dining space to enjoy our spoils, we noticed easels and painting supplies propped up in the separate, special event room. Because as it turns out, artist Kris Meadows can often be found offering art lessons and painting tips to eager pupils. Yes, this is the sort of cultural destination we could get used to.
