Prior to Yipit, Vinicius worked at Quadrangle Group and The Blackstone Group. In 2003, he graduated with a degree in Applied Mathematics from Harvard College where he served as a teaching fellow for the Computer Science department. He writes frequently on entrepreneurship and serves as a mentor for TechStars.

Jim founded previously worked at The Blackstone Group. He graduated from Harvard College in 2005 with a degree in Economics. As a senior in college, he won the 2005 Harvard Business Plan Competition.

Prior to Yipit, Zach was the Lead Product Architect at PerformLine. Zach graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Economics and Marketing and studied Computer Science at Columbia University.

Prior to Yipit, Steve interned with CUNA Mutual Group. Steve double majored in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dave Tomback

Prior to Yipit, Dave co-founded neigh*borrow, a peer-to-peer marketplace for sharing items with friends and neighbors. Previously, Dave worked in management consulting and investment banking. He received a BA in Economics from Tufts University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Joe Johnson

Business Operations Associate

Prior to Yipit, Joe worked at AOL Ventures, founded an education technology company, and worked as an investment banker in the Financial Sponsors Group at Wells Fargo Securities. Joe graduated from Georgetown University in 2008 with degrees in Finance and International Business. While in college, he spent a semester abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Outside of work, Joe is passionate about skiing, photography, and travel.

Mingwei Gu

Before joining Yipit, Mingwei worked as a trading assistant at Five Rings Capital. Mingwei graduated from MIT in 2010 with a degree in Mathematics with Computer Science.

Andrew Gross

Developer

Andrew came to Yipit.com from Quality Health, a successful NYC based healthcare marketing company, where he lead the integration of Amazon Web Services into the infrastructure. Andrew graduated from Cornell University with a BS in Applied Engineering Physics in 2009.

Before joining Yipit, Sean worked in investment banking at Barclays in the Equity Linked and Hybrid Solutions group. Sean graduated from Columbia University with a B.A. in Economics-Statistics, and served as a teaching assistant in the economics department.

Emily Tiernan

Before joining Yipit, Emily worked in investment banking at Lazard. Emily graduated from Princeton University in 2010 with a degree in international relations from the Woodrow Wilson School. While at Princeton, Emily played lacrosse and helped found Princeton’s chapter of the Circle of Women – a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing women’s education in the developing world.

Before joining Yipit, Allen worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley, and then in a strategy role at PepsiCo. In college, Allen also interned for the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He recently graduated from Harvard College where he studied Economics with a minor in Psychology. Outside of work, Allen enjoys reading and exploring the food scene in NYC.

Prior to Yipit, Matt co-founded Nestio, a TechStars backed company determined to fix the crazy world of apartment renting. Previously, he worked for an unknown amount of years in Interactive Advertising at The Barbarian Group. His origins beyond that are unknown, even to him. Outside of work, Matt is determined to see how many ways he can prepare deviled eggs.

Hugo Lopes Tavares

Hugo is a passionate software developer and he is very experienced with the Python programming language and automated testing. Prior to joining Yipit, Hugo worked in team responsible for Globo.com's Live Video Infrastructure development and maintainance. Hugo authored, coauthored, and contributed to lots of opensource projects including: pip, the Python package installer, splinter, should-dsl, and others.

Prior to Yipit, James was lead engineer for equity backtesting products at Bloomberg. He is a 2010 graduate of Washington University in St. Louis where he studied Finance, Accounting, and Computer Science. Outside of work, James enjoys fishing, reading, and the NBA.

Prior to Yipit, Hana worked at Hutchin Hill Capital, Highbridge Capital and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2003, she graduated with a degree in Art History from Loyola University Maryland.

Zack came to Yipit after working as a trading research analyst at Barclays Capital. Despite little computer science experience during undergrad at Columbia University, he discovered passion for development in his spare time after graduation. While not at work he enjoys literature, sport, and learning new concepts.

Thiago Silva

Working as a software engineer for over 12 years (known through all of them as "the languages guy"), Thiago has dedicated his career to advance the state-of-the-art of programming and engineering practices in the field. His main interest is leveraging human collaboration through meaningful computer-mediated experiences. Prior to Yipit, he was a graduate student conducting research on programming language theory.

Prior to Yipit, Michaela worked in Equity Research at Credit Suisse. She graduated from Harvard College in 2010 where she studied Environmental Science and Public Policy and was a member of the Varsity Rowing Team. Outside of work, Michaela enjoys live music, fitness, and traveling.
